Henry Marvin Moore

Henry Marvin Moore, 82, died Saturday, January 23, 2021 at FirstHealth Hospice House, surrounded by his family.
Marvin was born in Moore County, NC on March 20, 1938, the son of the late Rancie Lee Moore and Nora Scott Moore. He worked at Klopman Mills in Ramseur, NC for 19 years. In 1978, he graduated from the National School of Meat Cutting in Toledo, Ohio. He worked as a meat cutter in various grocery stores from 1979 until 2017 until he retired. He enjoyed fishing, camping, trail riding and going to the beach. He loved riding through the local horse parades. One of his joys was playing Santa Claus at Christmas time with his horse and buggy giving out candy.
In addition to his parents, Marvin was preceded in death by his wife, Lorene Moore; son, Barry Moore; siblings, Louise Maness, Rancie “Bud” Moore Jr, Dee Moore, Howard Moore and Paul Moore.
Surviving are his children, Sherry Kennedy and spouse Nicky, Cynthia Forbes, Jeffrey Moore and Peggie Coble and spouse Jamie; siblings, Betty Garner, Valleen Maness, Wilma Davis and Roy Moore; stepson, Scott Prewitt; step granddaughter, Farrah Prewitt; step grandson, Brock Sloan and spouse Emily; five grandchildren, Jessica Forbes, Meziah Spencer, Melita Spencer, Naomi Spencer and Nicholiah Coble; step great grandchildren, Leo Sloan, Finley Sloan and Brandon Ambriz.
Graveside service will be held at 3:00 PM Saturday, January 30, 2021 at Acorn Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery, with Dr. John Williamson and Pastor DJ Harry officiating.
The body will lie in repose from Noon until 2:00 PM, Saturday, January 30, 2021 at Kennedy Funeral Home. Due to COVID restriction no visitation is planned.
Memorials may be directed to the FirstHealth Hospice House, 251 Campground Rd West End, NC 27376 in memory of Henry Marvin Moore.

I love my Uncle Marvin and will certainly miss him. So many wonderful memories! Such fun times as a child…one of my favorite memories is from the Moore Family Christmas Dinners. I am sure he was the first Santa I ever saw! I am thankful he is no longer in pain and no more suffering. Our prayers for comfort and peace continue for his Sisters, Brother and Children.
I am so sorry to hear if Marvin’s passing! I always loved talking to him. He always brought a smile to my face. We are going to miss seeing him around and our little chats!

Sorry about the loss of Marvin. He was a good man and a good supervisor. He never met a stranger and I would stop and see him at the IGA at Robbins when I would be the area. He always like to pick on me a lot also he would if I didn’t try harder he would tell Bill Thomas on me.
Marvin will be missed and I say my good byes to him. God Bless the Family.

Marvin was 1 of our assistant scout masters troop 528, Erect NC. I was in with Dale and Dean Maness. Marvin was great fun to be around, thought of him many times over the years. Thank you Marvin for your time and influence.
