I had the wonderful pleasure of being one of the first nurses to work with Dr Bruton when he began working at Moore County Hospital in 1966. I was the 3-11 head nurse on the pediatric unit just having gotten married and came back to work as a RN having worked there in high school. He was such a mentor to me as a young nurse. If a baby needed immediate attention all I had to do was call him. He would come so fast I worried about him getting a speeding ticket. Of course he was my kids doctor. Once when my daughter was very sick and my son not so bad he admitted them both to the hospital saying you can’t be in 2 places at once and your husband needs to work. He will always have a special place in my heart. God sure has a special angell
