Richard (Dick) K. Colegrove went to be with the Lord on August 27. Born in Cortland, NY in 1931, Dick was predeceased by his wife of 55 years, Grace.

In 1984 Dick and Grace sold their shoe store in Fulton, NY and moved to Seven Lakes bringing Grace’s Dad with them. Dick was an avid golfer who enjoyed the game and his golf buddies.

Dick was a kind, cheerful man who loved the Lord.  He always had a twinkle in his eye and a joke to tell.

He is survived by his loving niece, Marilyn Baxter and her husband Paul, his nephew Murphy (Charlotte) Sweetland and his dear friend Julia Reaves.

A memorial service will be held at Brownson Memorial Presbyterian Church, 330 South May Street, Southern Pines on Friday, August 30 at 11 AM

The family suggests that In lieu of flowers donations be made to the Music Fund at Brownson Church where Dick sang in the choir.

Care of the family is entrusted to Crumpler Funeral Home of Aberdeen.

  1. On behalf of West End Presyterian Church, we send our love and condolences to Dick’s family.  He and his wife were members there for many years.  Dick sang in the choir faithfully and with great joy.  His sense of humor, kindness and friendship will be missed as well as his endearing smile.  God bless you Dick as you travel home…

  2. Our deepest sympathy for the loss of Dick Colegrove. I worked in a retail clothing store in Fulton, NY, where I got to know Dick and Grace very well. I played golf with him and we dined with him and Grace on occasions. He was always a positive guy and very pleasant to be around and very good businessman.I hadn’t heard from him in a long time, but I phoned him a couple of years ago and we talked quite a long time and brought back a lot of old memories of retail in a booming time in Fulton in the 70’s and 80’s.May God bless!
