Mrs. Christine Anne Batten of West End passed away unexpectantly at her home on Tuesday, December 17, 2019, at the age of 57.

Christine was born in Moore County on July 27, 1962, to the late William and Sandra Woodell Ruckert. She was very dedicated to her job and worked for over 20 years at Linda's Cafe in Pinehurst. Before the death of her late husband, Joe, they enjoyed spending time together at the beach. Christine will always be remembered by her empathy and always putting others before herself. She will always be remembered for making others laugh and laughing with her family and friends. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and sister to her family.

She is survived by her children, Beth Gabriel (Darrion) of Port Arthur, Texas, Erica Batten of West End; her sisters, Kim Ruckert (William) of Vass, Connie Mitchel of New London, Kathleen Russell (Steve) of Montgomery, MN, Karen McDonald (Chris) of Southern Pines; her grandchildren, Evan, Lilly, Madalynn, and Cloey.

The family will celebrate the life of Christine at a later date.

    Rodney & Nancy Batten

  2. I’ve known Chris from the day she was born. Through the years there have been happy and not so happy times. She was a gentle soul and had a wonderful laugh. I pray she is at peace and joins her parents and husband. Her sisters will miss her terribly and my husband and I are so sorry and will keep the daughters and families in our thoughts.

  3. So very sorry to hear this.  I knew Christine and all the Ruckert girls throughout middle and high school.  I pray that you all will find peace in your soul from this loss.  Peace be with you.

  4. I will keep you all in my Prayers, I didn`t really know Christine but knew her sisters well, May God send his comforter to her Family at this difficult time…Always Amanda Davis (Mandy)
