Barbara Jean Richards

Barbara Jean Richards of Aberdeen passed away in her home on Thursday, November 4, 2021, at the age of 73.
Barbara was born in Moore County on July 14, 1948, to the late Jessie Odom, Jr. and Mable Miller Odom. Barbara grew up in Moore County and attended Aberdeen High School. Throughout her life, she worked at various jobs, but the one she loved the most was babysitting her grandchildren and her great-grandchildren. She grew up loving music and dancing. Barbara enjoyed traveling to the beach and spending quality time with her family. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was preceded in death by her son, Christopher Miles Richards.
She leaves behind her husband, Will Richards of Aberdeen; her children, Franklin Rice, Elizabeth Zwiebel, Gwendolyn Richards, Matthew Scott Richards; her brothers, Jessie Odom, III, Mitchell Odom, Phillip Odom; her sister, Benita Wicker; her grandchildren, Leigh ann Zwiebel, Samatha Webb, George Zwiebel, Carley Ewing, Shawn Ewing; her great-grandchildren, Caleigh, and Brantley Webb.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, November 7, 2021, at Crumpler Funeral Home-Aberdeen between the hours of 2:00 pm and 4:00 pm.
Aunt Barbara, I’m thankful for all my childhood memories of you! You were definitely one of a kind. Your love and dedication to your family is what I remember most. I’m sure your reunion with Chris was amazing. Love you always, and rest in peace sweet lady!
