David A. Howard
October 30, 1952 ~ January 20, 2022
David A. Howard of Southern Pines went to meet the Lord on Thursday, January 20, 2022, at FirstHealth Moore Regional at the age of 69.
David was born on October 30, 1952, to the late, Wayne and Phyllis Scungio Howard. David grew up in Virginia Beach, and after high school, he enlisted in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. Over the years, David found his passion in Computers. He was so enthused with computers and IT that he began a career in the IT industry owning his own business. David was a member of Southern Pines First Baptist Church.
He leaves behind his wife of 49 years, Susan G. Howard of Southern Pines; his children, Wayne Howard of Alexandria, VA; Terri Perdue (Jason) of Killeen, TX; Vinny Howard of Charlotte, Shehad Moustafa of Alexandria, VA; his grandchildren, Jacob (Marissa), Zachariah, Jeremiah, Able.
The family will hold a celebration of life at a later date.
I’m very sorry to hear about David’s passing. I wasn’t aware that he passed away until recently. I worked with him at ODU in the OCCS/ITS department for over 3 years. After I became a full timer, he trained me on how to use Novell and showed other tricks and tips for troubleshooting computers. I also recently found a couple of pictures of David with his desktop support family at ODU. If anyone in his family wants them, feel free to reach out to me, and I would happily share them. I offer my condolences to his family.
