Everlyn Jean Ripp

Everlyn Jean (Anderson) Ripp, 91, of Whispering Pines, NC passed away peacefully in her sleep on February 10, 2024, at Fox Hollow in Pinehurst.
 

Jean is survived by her daughter, Barbara (Tom) Statas, and son, Thomas, and was predeceased by her husband, Frank, and her son, James. She was a loving wife and mother.

Jean grew up in Vestal, NY, and graduated from the School of Nursing at Wilson Memorial Hospital in 1954. She met her husband while working in the infirmary at Cornell University. Jean and Frank followed his engineering career which took them to Bethpage, NY; Owego, NY; Derwood, MD; Huntsville, AL; Rockville, MD; and Vestal, NY, before they retired to NC. She enjoyed participating in and leading a troop of Girl Scouts, her Methodist Church group, quilting, crafts, bird watching, the Women’s Civic Group in Vestal, travel throughout the country, and the Sandhills Natural History Society. She participated in the National Women’s Health Initiative for 30+ yrs.

Services will be held at a later date in Vestal, NY.
