Georgia Ann (Blue) Minges of Southern Pines passed away on Wednesday, January 3, 2024, at the FirstHealth Hospice House at the age of 85.
Georgia was born in Robeson County on December 7, 1938, to the late Frederick Lee and Georgia Bennett Blue of Aberdeen. She is preceded in death by her husband, Carroll Wayne "Sonny" Minges, and her infant daughter, Amy Louise Minges; her brother, Frederick Lee "Buddy" Blue, Jr.; and her sister, Betty Blue Briley.
She leaves behind her son, Brad Minges (Lynn); two granddaughters, Caroline Minges (Luke) and Elizabeth Paschal (Robert); and four great-grandchildren, all of Raleigh.
The family will have a celebration of life at a later date.
Brad, Georgia was always a fun gracious lady. She and Sonny were kind enough to be my daughter’s Godparents, Mary Minges, after Richard Jr was killed. Blessings on ur new journey. Tonie (Minges)
My sincerest condolences to Brad and family. Georgia was such a wonderful lady. I met Georgia and Sonny in the late 1960’s and my then husband was stationed at Ft. Bragg. They were both wonderful to him. We bought our first really good quarter horses from them. I will always remember Georgia’s gracious hospitality to me when I joined them to pick up our new horses. We reconnected on via Facebook a few years ago and I hoped to see her. I just learned of her passing. So sorry I never got to visit with her again but she will always be remembered so fondly. I know how much she loved her family.
