Wayne Elbert Ray

Wayne Elbert Ray, 64, passed away Monday, May 5, 2025. 

Wayne was born July 19, 1960 to the late Elbert and Louise Saunders Ray.   He enjoyed spending time outdoors, hunting and fishing in his younger days. Wayne worked in the sawmill business all his life.  The work was hard but he had pride in a job well done.   He loved spending time with all his family.  Wayne never met a stranger, he was ready with good conversation,  He was also known to “pick” and have a good laugh, sometimes at your expense.  In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by sister: Wanda Gail Ray, brother; Mark Ray.

Wayne is survived by sisters: Mary Jacobs (Daniel), Rebecca Marshall; brothers: John Ray, David Ray, Joshua Ray; many nieces, nephews and friends. 

Funeral service will be 2:00 PM, Friday, May 9, 2025 at Mt Tabor Community Church, with Pastor Gary Melchin and Pastor Adam Beddingfield officiating.. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. 

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM, Thursday, May 8, 2025 at Kennedy Funeral Home.
