Glenda Allen Saunders, age 71, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 15, 2025, at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital surrounded by her family.
A native of Moore County, Glenda was the daughter of the late Vernon and Dessie Spivey Allen. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Brent Allen. Glenda will be remembered as a kind and generous soul who found great joy in serving others. An exceptional cook, she loved sharing her delicious meals with family and friends. Above all, her greatest passion in life was her two cherished grandchildren, who brought her immeasurable joy. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, whose love and care touched the lives of many.
Glenda is survived by her best friend and husband of 49 years, Richard Saunders of Robbins; two daughters, Christina Sherman (Jason) of Robbins and Maggie Behrmann of Carthage; sister, Joan McIver of Carthage; brother, Roy Allen of Bennett; two grandchildren, Cameron Sherman and William Behrmann; she is also survived by a special niece, Stacey Morgan (Chris) and their children, McKinley, Kolby, and Keiton.
A graveside memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 18, 2025, at Pine Rest Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 17, 2025, at Kennedy Funeral Home. At all other times, the family will be gathering at Richard’s home.
