Oaklynn Nova Brown, 2, passed away Saturday, September 20, 2025 at Levine Children’s Hospital, surrounded by her family.

Although Oaklynn’s life was brief here on earth her impact was big and far reaching. She loved watching Bluey, Miss Rachel and Moana.  Oaklynn loved being outdoors, especially trips to the park. Some of her favorite foods were broccoli and bananas.  She loved her family and they loved  her.

Oaklynn is survived by parents: Shawn and Samantha; sister Ember Rose;  grandparents:  Sherry Ellis; Max Cagle and wife Susan; uncle: Chris Brown and wife Kim;  and many extended family members.

The family wants to thank the staff of Levine Children’s Hospital, especially LCH 11, for the loving care that was given Oaklynn.

A Celebration of Life service is planned for a later date.  

The family is receiving friends at the home.

Kennedy Funeral Home is assisting the Brown family.

You fought the fight baby girl, fought like a girl should, you made everyone smile and laugh! Your cute little giggles and videos we will miss so much! Watch over Ember OK? We love you sweetheart!

  14. Im sorry for everything you guys have been through! Many prayers have been said for your beautiful daughter and both of you parents! I remember Samantha being pregnant and talking about her new life almost everyday and how happy she was to start it! Yall are one of the best parents i have ever saw! No matter what yall always made a way to be beside your daughter through all her battles! Wishing you guys an easy recovery!!
