Amy Caroline Denny, age 52, of Carthage, passed away on Saturday, January 10, 2026, at FirstHealth Hospice & Palliative Care, surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Lumberton, she was the daughter of William Andrew Cox & Carolyn Rose Powell. She loved and adored her family, especially her children. She was an amazing wife, mother, aunt, grandmother, and friend. She loved and cared for all of her dogs. She worked hard helping her husband take care of their farm. Amy had a selfless heart and would help anyone in need, always trying to avoid burdening others.

Amy loved walking on the beach with her family. She took those opportunities to relax, but also to talk to people, never meeting a stranger. She enjoyed gardening, especially vegetables, often sharing her produce with her neighbors.

She is survived by: her loving husband of 32 years, Vince Denny, father, Bill (Lorena) Cox of Carthage; son, Allen Denny of Carthage; two daughters, Victoria (Tyler) Denny of Denver, Addison (Raley Edwards) Denny of Carthage; sister, Andrea Matchlat of Pinehurst; granddaughter, Lorelei Edwards of Carthage; sister-in-law, Lynne (Tom) Bullins of Carthage; brother-in-law, Derrick Denny of Mint Hill; nephew, Andrew Matchlat of New Bern; three nieces, Jessica Matchlat of Pinehurst, Mackenzie (Anthony) Green of Carthage, Bailey (Taylor) Hoxworth of Sanford; mother-in-law, Bonnie Denny of Carthage.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, officiated by Rev. John Stinett at Lamm’s Grove Church Cemetery in Carthage. The family will receive friends following the service at Amy’s mother-in-law’s, Bonnie’s home: 1020 Lamms Grove Road, Carthage, NC.
