William Quimby Seawell, age 93 of Glendon, passed away on Sunday, April 12, 2026.
Born August 2, 1932, in Moore County, North Carolina, he was the son of the late Eli Seawell and Mary Pearl Foster Seawell. William retired as a supervisor from the textile industry, Carthage Fabrics.
William loved to fish, hunt, and play rook. He enjoyed raising bird dogs and quail with his youngest son, Tony. He loved the Lord and his church, where he served as the Sunday School Superintendent for many years.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Jo Rae Fulk Seawell, who passed away in 2023.
He is survived by his children: Mike Seawell and wife Grace of Carbonton; Ricky Seawell and wife Deborah of Glendon; Donna VanDeventer and husband Kevin of Orlando, FL; and Tony Seawell and wife Lisa of Glendon. He leaves behind nine grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, at Cool Springs Church of Carthage. The committal will take place in the church sanctuary, then the family will receive friends in the Fellowship Hall after the service. Pastor William Cashion is officiating.

When I moved home and William was my neighbor again he was one of the constant simple things that made it feel like home again. His lamp on in the window in the mornings when I would leave for work to him riding his mower with a big smile a wave when I would drive past.
