Sandra Pulley White, age 82, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 12, 2026, at Quail Haven in Pinehurst. Sandy was born June 4, 1943, in Smithfield, NC, to the late Herman and Pauline Brantham Pulley.
She was a devoted wife to John White for 47 years and a loving mother to her two boys, John and Eddie (Hugh).
Sandy grew up in Micro, NC. She graduated from King’s Business College in Raleigh, NC. Prior to moving to Pinehurst, she worked in various roles, including a secretarial position at Nash County Mental Health in Rocky Mount, NC. Sandy and her husband, John, owned a record store, “Mad Milton’s Golden Hits”, for several years in Wilson, NC. She also worked at WRAL, providing clerical assistance to Ray Wilkinson, the Agricultural Reporter, who shared his humorous stories of “Cecil and Leonard”. Once Sandy retired, she worked at Lowe’s in Southern Pines, and she was the caregiver for her husband until his death in 2012.
Sandy never met a stranger. She loved her grandchildren, family, and friends with all of her heart. She loved to cook, bake, and entertain guests. Everyone loved her cakes, especially her pound cakes, chicken pastry, and all of her southern cooking. She enjoyed traveling and spending time with family and friends. She was a devoted member of Deep Creek Baptist Church in Aberdeen, and she loved all of her church family.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her sister, Tommie Woodard, and her sister-in-law, Betty Duke.
Sandy is survived by her two sons, John & wife, Laura White of Pinehurst NC and their son William (Davis) White of Newport, NC,; Hugh (Eddie) & wife, Michelle and their daughter, Rachel of Asheville, NC; a brother, Travis & wife, Judy Pulley of Warrenton NC; and several nieces, nephews, and other extended family.
The family extends their sincere appreciation to the staff of Quail Haven, the staff of Liberty Home Care and Hospice, the staff of Magnolia Gardens Assisted Living, Deep Creek Baptist Church, and everyone who provided love, assistance, and support to Sandy over the years. She loved each and every one of you.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at Deep Creek Baptist Church in Pinehurst at 10 a.m. A time of fellowship will follow the service in the church’s Fellowship Hall. Pastor Jerry Wilson will be officiating the service.

John,Laura, Davis and family, we are so sorry to hear of Sandy’s passing. She was a sweet lady and a wonderful neighbor and great friend. We will always remember our time together on her back porch drinking sweet tea and our car rides together going to different farmer’s markets.Sending our love thoughts and prayers to you all . .WE LOVED HER CHOCOLATE CAKE!

The family is in my prayers. Sandra was a very loving, kind, and thoughtful individual to all she encountered, being a true & faithful servant of God.
My prayers are with you and your family. I enjoyed working with Sandra at FirstHealth beginning in Taylortown.. She was a very warm and loving person. I know she will be greatly missed.
