Anthony "Toby" Sturdivant

Anthony “Toby” Clifford Sturdivant, 70, passed away Wednesday, August 5, 2026 at his home.
Toby was a native of Moore County, born June 4, 1956. He was a mechanic and always loved working on all kinds of cars. Toby enjoyed fishing, NASCAR and a good cold Mt. Dew. He loved his family very much and enjoyed time spent with his grandchildren. The family remembers his smile and that he was always ready with a joke. He was preceded in death by father: JP Sturdivant; wife Elizabeth Sturdivant; daughter: Lois Frazier.
Toby is survived by his wife Charlotte; children: Christy Sturdivant Mayer and husband Don, Melissa Sturdivant and Timothy Brady, Wayne Sturdivant, Marissa Sturdivant; mother: Peggy Sturdivant; sisters: Elaine Lamb, Lisa Williams and husband Ricky, Amy McDaniels and husband Donnie, JoAnn Harris and husband Brad; brothers: Gerald Sturdivant and wife Ann, Roger Sturdivant and wife Helen; grandchildren: Bobby Sturdivant, Gracie Blake, Kala Brown, Savannah Sturdivant, Andrew Shockley, Sr., Audrey Shockley, Manuel Mendoza, Gabriella Mendoza, Brittney Saunders, Brett Pennington; great grandchildren: Sara Shockley, Andrew Shockley, Jr., Atticus Tysor, Braydin Waldin; many nieces, nephews and friends. He also leaves behind his dogs Baby Girl and Fluffy.
Graveside service will be held 4:00 PM, Saturday, August 8, 2026 at the Family Cemetery, 234 Lick Creek Drive, Carthage, NC, with Pastor James Brewer presiding.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM, Friday, August 7, 2026 at Kennedy Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family to assist with the final expenses.
