Born in: Eau Claire, Wisconson
Resided in: Hartsville, South Carolina

Corey John Hibbard was born on February 27, 1977, in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, to Ronald Brantner and Kathy Hibbard. Corey passed away unexpectedly at his home in South Carolina on Wednesday, September 9, 2026.
Corey is survived by his beloved wife, Bobbie Jo, with whom he shared 33 loving years. He also leaves behind his two daughters, Tasha Sorenson of Marston, North Carolina, and Melissa (Greg) Riyevski of West End, North Carolina; his son, Brandon Sorenson of Hartsville, South Carolina; his mother, Kathy Hibbard of South Carolina; his stepmother, Kay Brantner of Florida; his brothers, Zach (Heather) Potts and Darren (Cassie) Potts, both of Wisconsin; his sister, Natasha (Michael) Alameda of Jacksonville, Florida; and his grandson, Odin Riyevski.
For many years, Corey owned and operated his own construction business, taking great pride in his work and serving those around him. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time on the ocean in his boat. He especially enjoyed hunting with his beloved coon dogs and had a passion for dirt-track racing. Corey also loved old cars and was currently restoring one.
Those who knew Corey will remember him for his funny, down-to-earth personality and his witty sense of humor. He had a way of making people laugh and never took himself too seriously. He was also known for giving the very best hugs and for making everyone’s favorite sugar cookies. Corey lived life in his own unique way, loved his family deeply, and will be missed beyond measure by his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him.
His family finds comfort in the promise of Jesus and in the hope that Corey is now at peace in His presence. Though his time here ended far too soon, the love he gave and the memories he created will remain forever in the hearts of those who loved him.
Corey was preceded in death by his father, Ronald Brantner; his aunts, Karen Hibbard, Shirley Johnson, and Christine Fedie; and his uncles, Robert Duckworth and Dennis Hibbard.
