Betty Lewis Garner

Betty Lewis Garner, 85 of Robbins died Sunday, September 29, 2013 at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst.
A graveside service will be held at 5:00 PM on Wednesday, October 2, 2013 at Pine Rest Cemetery in Robbins with the Rev. Jon Neuhs officiating. The family will receive friends at Elise Presbyterian Church following the service.
A native of Moore County, Betty was born June 6, 1928 to the late Coy Stephen Lewis and Elma Morrison Lewis. She attended Elise High School, where she was class salutatorian, and Womens College in Greensboro (now UNCG).
Betty married Arnold Garner in 1950 and enjoyed 60 years of marriage before his passing in 2010. She was his partner in their insurance and construction businesses. Betty enjoyed spending time with her family at home or at the beach, playing bridge and watching ACC basketball.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Joyce Garner Seawell; granddaughter, Hannah Seawell: siblings, Hazel Lewis McLaurin, Margaret Lewis Cleetwood, Coy Stephen Lewis, Jr. and Patricia Lewis Stephens.
Survivors include her son, Mark Lewis Garner and partner Cynthia Reeves of Pinebluff; daughter Beth Garner Hall and husband Lee of Cary, three grandchildren, Lucas Garner of the Outer Banks; Alexandria Hall and Greylan Hall of Cary.
