Earl H. Garner, 92, of 411 Oscar Road, Robbins, entered Heaven peacefully on Tuesday, June 25, 2013, surrounded by his family. He was born January 29, 1921 to Bennett and Mary Hussey Garner, the youngest of 10 children.
Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, June 28, 2013 at Acorn Ridge Baptist Church, Robbins, NC. with the Reverend Edwin Moore, Reverend Arnold Comer and Eddie Brown officiating.
Mr. Earl was a simple, humble man who loved everyone and was a friend to all. He loved the land and enjoyed nothing better that riding his tractor and planting a crop. His life work consisted of textiles, farming and he was a house painter. He had a gentle, quiet spirit, was soft spoken and was loved as 'POP' by his family. Spending time with family and sharing old memories were times he loved.
He was preceded in death by his wife Vila, granddaughter, Allison Pickler, sisters: Florence Comer, Bertha Garner, brothers: Lexie, Elbert, Burney, Dewey, Robert, Carson and Marvin Garner.
Earl is survived by daughters: Judy Phillips and husband Charles, Brenda Pickler and husband Craig, of Robbins, grandson: Alan Phillips and wife Susan, of Johnson City, Tennessee, granddaughter: Lindsay Greer and husband Chris, of Jonesborough, Tennessee, great-granddaughters: Addison and Campbell Phillips.
The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:30 PM on Thursday, June 27, 2013 at Acorn Ridge Baptist Church and other times at the home of Craig and Brenda Pickler.
