Jack Craig 83, died Thursday, June 6, 2013 at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital, Pinehurst, NC .
Graveside Service will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, June 8, 2013 at Pine Rest Cemetery, Robbins, NC. with the Reverend Robert Craig officiating.
Mr. Craig was born in Sanford, NC and lived in Durham, NC. Jack loved baseball and played American Legion for several teams, he signed with the New York Yankees organization and was later released due to a knee injury. He owned and operated auto parts businesses in Robbins and Pittsboro for many years. He was a son of the late Leonard and Carrie Pendergrass Craig, and was preceded in death by sister Jane Craig Creery.
Jack is survived by wife: June Melvin, of the home, daughter; Vickie Craig Odom, of Robbins, son: Ted and wife Sandra, of Robbins, grandchildren: Brandi Craig, of Eagle Springs; Craig Odom, of Statesboro, Ga., Bethany Craig Barden, of Burlington, Megan Odom Porter, of Riverside, Calif., great grandchildren: Carter Porter, Baine and Andrea Barden, sisters: Lillian Poe, of High Point, Doris Raper, of High Point, Carrie Lynn Smith, of Sanford, Shirley Mutter, of Durham, brother: Bill Craig, of Lake Junaluska, NC.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM on Friday, June 7, 2013 at Kennedy Funeral Home in Robbins and other times at the home of Mr and Mrs Ted Craig, 944 Flint Hill Church Road, Robbins, NC.
