Winifred Tarr Andres, 97, died Thursday February 7, 2013 at Kingswood Nursing Center.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, February 17th at 2:00 p.m. at Our
Saviour Lutheran Church, where she was a member. Officiated by Rev. Larry Wolf.
Born June 27th, 1915 in Oil City, PA she was a daughter of the late Budd L. and
Mary Smith Tarr and was preceded in death by two sisters, Bertha Tarr Gill and Mildred Campbell Shook, a brother, Norman Tarr all of Pennsylvania and a daughter-in-law, Ann Allsbrook Andres.
Mrs. Andres was a graduate of Oil City High School, Griffins School of Cosmetology, and was a beautician for 47 years. She owned and operated Winifred's Beauty Salon, and then moved to Southern Pines in 1983.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Sigismund Andres of Southern Pines, one son, Dave Andres and wife Renate of Rockingham,NC, two granddaughters, six great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews, several of whom were very close to her.
Memorials may be made to Our Saviour Lutheran Church, 1517 Luther Way, Southern Pines, NC 28387 or to a charity of the donor's choice.
