Ruth Garner Baker, age 86 died Monday (February 3, 2014) at Peak Resource - Pinelake.
Funeral Services will be 2:00 PM Friday at Yates-Thagard Baptist Church conducted by the Rev. Steven Johnson. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
A native of Moore County she was a daughter of the late Claude and Ethel Morgan Garner. Ruth was and active member of Yates-Thagard Baptist Church and was retired from Eckerd Drug Stores.
She was preceded in death by: her husband of 32 years Jefferson David 'Jeff' Baker; brothers Cliff Garner, Lacy 'Bud' Garner, Ralph Garner and wife Carol, Raymond Garner; sister in law Marguree.
She is survived by: daughters Ilene Thompson and husband Andy of Carthage, Donna Kyle and husband Robert of Carthage; sisters Doris Wall and husband Paul of Sanford, Jewel Frye and husband William of Sanford, Thelma Wilke and husband Charles of Cameron; brothers Walter Garner and wife Barbara of Newport News, VA, Harrison Garner of Vass; sister in laws Dottie West of Aberdeen, Marjorie Garner of Carthage, Opal Pricklermyer of Charlotte; grandchildren Marsha Hardy Rae, Darrick Hardy and wife Sherry, Byron Kyle and wife Kathy, Christy Whitaker and husband Jason; 15 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at Thursday from 6:00-8:00 at Fry and Prickett Funeral Home and other times at the home of Donna and Robert Kyle.
