Janie Goodwin Creekmore, age 85, died Tuesday, March 11, 2014 at Manor Care in Pinehurst.
A funeral service will be held 2:00 PM on Friday, March 14, 2014 at Yates-Thagard Baptist Church with the Rev. Steven Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 1:00 PM on Friday at Yates-Thagard Baptist Church.
Born in Harnett County, she was the daughter of the late Alfred Dolphus Goodwin and Ila Mae Bryant Goodwin. She retired from Westinghouse in Raleigh and was a faithful member of Yates-Thagard Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by daughters, Frances Forrest and Dottie Johnson and two brothers, Alfred Goodwin and Jack Goodwin.
Survivors include her husband, Grafton Creekmore; a daughter, Lynn Caviness and husband, Wayne of Carthage; son, Johnnie Wester & wife, Pat of Fuquay Varina; son-in-laws, Roger Forrest of Carthage and Tim Johnson & wife, Tracie of Raleigh; sister, Jean Williford and a brother, Carey Goodwin; seven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made the Yates-Thagard Baptist Church Missonary Fund, 3820 Vass Carthage Road, Carthage, NC 28327.

We remember so many good times with Janie and Speedy when we all went to church together at Fellowship in Raleigh. The most vivid memory was our custom to don our Halloween Costumes and ‘go out to eat’! We will always remember he
