Carol Lee Baber Williams, 78 went home to be with the Lord on Monday May 19, 2014 at FirstHealth Hospice. She was the wife of Worthy “Sugar Tom” for 63 years.
She loved the Lord and attended Rock HIll Friends Church. She was a dedicated wife and mother who loved to cook. Often friends and family would request her advice when cooking as she knew all the tricks needed to prepare a delicious meal. Another favorite pastime was getting her hands in the dirt to grow vegetables, because she enjoyed preserving them.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by four sons and three daughters: Edwin (Ruth), Linda “Susie”Kearns (Charles), Lynn (Linda), Vicky (Barney) and Tommy (Lisa) of Robbins, Garry (Pat) of Spartanburg, SC and Darlene Samples (Mark) of Carthage, Also surviving are 12 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, her sisters Mary Edith Kidd, Mae Calloway, Wilma Diedrich, Irma Dell Tessitor and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents Raymond and Bertha Seawell Baber, a sister Lucille Emmons, and brothers Lester, Raymond and Carlis Baber.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association, PO Box 11454, Alexandria, VA 22312 or Rock Hill Friends Church, 148 Rock Hill Friends Church Road, Eagle Springs, NC 27242 or your favorite charity.
A visitation time will be held prior to the service beginning at 3:00 PM and the funeral service beginning at 4:00 PM Wednesday, May 21st at Rock Hill Friends Church with Rev. Tom Powers and Rev. David Roudabush officiating. Burial will be at Pine Rest Cemetery in Robbins.
