Nina Irene Snider Baxter 97, died Monday June 15, 2015 at her home in Robbins.

 

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM, Thursday, June 18 , 2015 at Robbins First Baptist Church, with Reverend Kenneth McNeill  and Reverend  Gene Booker officiating.  Burial will follow in the Bennett Baptist Church Cemetery, Bennett, NC.  

 

She was born in Randolph County, the daughter of the late Robie and Ada Riley Snider.  She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, David Winfred Baxter, who died in 2005, as well as two sisters: Ila Powers and Pearl Loflin, and three brothers: Vance, Lloyd and J.R. Snider.

 

Irene was a member of Robbins First Baptist Church for 67 years and in 2011 was given the Women’s Missionary Union Woman of the Year Award.

 

Irene is survived by her daughters: Linda Thompson,and husband Jerry of Mt. Gilead, Delores Monroe and husband Al of Charlotte and Gwen Booker and husband Ken of Raeford. seven grandchildren; Amy Booker Bradley (Wayne), Kelly Thompson, Kerry Booker Blackwelder (Chad), Matthew B. Thompson, David R. Monroe (Stephanie), Kevin Booker (Tricia) and Jill Monroe; as well as ten great-grandchildren; Colby, Carson and Morgan Bradley, McKenzie Blackwelder, Stephen and Noah Monroe, Grant, Griffin and Grey Booker, and Sydney Thompson.

 

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM, Wednesday, June 17, 2015 at Kennedy Funeral Home.

 

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Robbins First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 400 Robbins, NC  27325 or First Health Hospice Foundation, 150 Applecross Rd. Pinehurst, NC  28374.
