George Wayne Hilliard, 78, of Fuquay-Varina NC, died peacefully Sunday October 18, 2015 at his home surrounded by his loving care givers .
A funeral service will be held Saturday October 24, 2015 at 3:00 pm at Johnson Grove Cemetery Vass NC, officiated by the Reverend Archie Stevens.
Visitation will be held prior to the service, starting at 1:00 pm at Powell Funeral Home and Crematory, 160 E New Hampshire Ave, Southern Pines NC 28387.
Geroge was born October 5, 1937 in Sanford NC to the late William Henry and Alice Pearl Hilliard.
Preceded in death by his wife Mary Ruth Clark Hilliard, h e is survived by his special friend and caregiver, Carolyn Wilder; sister Elizabeth Lankford of Cameron NC; nieces Pat Casey of Sanford NC, Sandra Kelly of Cameron NC, Janice Brogden of Sanford NC, Connie Dean of Sanford NC, Jerri Lankford of Cameron NC, and Sylvia Phillips of Sanford NC; nephews Kevin Hilliard of Cameron NC, Jimmy Hilliard of Olivia NC and Glen Hilliard of Stedman NC, and Bobby Phillips of Winston Salem NC.
