Kevin Daniel Hughes 59 of Vass, NC formerly of East Moline, IL was born April 9, 1956 and  passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 29, 2015 at his home, surrounded by his family and life long friend, Todd Nelson.

 

Kevin was a well loved and hardworking man. He was a member of the United Township Class of 1974. Kevin was a certified RV technician for 25 years but spent most of his free time helping his many friends with anything else that needed a fix. He was as stubborn as a mule and as strong as a bull and his courageous and well fought battle with cancer was a perfect example.

 

He is survived by wife of 18 years, Cyndi Hughes (Geiger) Vass, NC

Children: Travis Morgan Vass, NC

                Chelsey Morgan Vass, NC

Grandchildren: Connor Morgan and Caleb Yeater both of Colona, IL

                

Siblings: Timothy (Kathy) Hughes Port

               Lori (Edmond) Harper East

               Moline, IL

Nieces and Nephews:

               Matthew Hughes (Nicole) Springfield, IL

               Jared Hughes (Clarissa) East Moline, IL

               Emily Tigges (Kyle) Brooklyn, NY

Four great nephews: Kellan and Rhys Neal both of Brooklyn, NY; Jackson and Samuel Hughes, Springfield, Il; one great niece, Madelyn Hughes, of Springfield, Il..

 

He is a son of the late Robert Eugene and Norma Lee Floyd Hughes both of East Moline, IL

 

Memorials may be made to the family for medical expenses.

  6. We were so sorry to hear about Kevin. Surprised to see he only lived approximately 100 or so miles from us. We often talk about the East Moline neighbors in Millbrook.

    Lived across the street from you. Sorry to learn of your parents passing as well.
