James A. Booth, age 91, of Carthage died Wednesday, (December 7, 2016) at FirstHealth Hospice House in Pinehurst.
Graveside services will be 2:00 PM Saturday at Cross Hill Cemetery conducted by the Rev. Arnold Comer.
A native of Moore County he was a son of the late James Irving Booth and Ida May Flinchum Booth. James was a lifelong resident of Moore County and retired from Moore County Sheriff's Department and NC Department of Correction.
He was preceded in death by his wife Annie Ruth Barker Booth and four sisters.
He is survived by a son Charles Booth and wife Carol of West End; daughter Clara Jean Buchanan of Sanford; granddaughter Patsy Shapiro of Hollywood, FL.
