Geraldine McKenzie Abrahamsen

Geraldine McCoy Overton McKenzie Abrahamsen, 90, of Southern Pines, died Saturday, Aug. 12, 2017, at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston Salem.
A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 20, at Culdee Presbyterian Church. The family will receive friends following the service in the church fellowship hall. As per Geraldine’s request, she will be buried privately with her first husband, Calvin Coolidge McKenzie.
A native of Ahoskie, she was a daughter of the late Walter and Annabel Graham Overton. She retired from FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital as a medical transcriptionist.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Calvin Coolidge McKenzie; her second husband, Edwin Franklin Abrahamsen; and a granddaughter, Melissa “Missy” McKenzie Jewell Anderson.
She is survived by children of her first marriage, Dana Calvin McKenzie and Terry Kim McKenzie; grandchildren Dana Calvin McKenzie II, Tucker Lane McKenzie, Anthony Tyler Bowen, Nora Grace McKenzie, Terry Layne McKenzie and Kaitlin Marie McKenzie Key; and great-grandchildren Michael Russell Anderson Jr., Moira Brennan McKenzie, Ian Nathaniel McKenzie, Laney Michelle McKenzie, Ava Marie Thacker, Regan Nicole Bowen, Joseph Cruz Solis and Jaxson Gauge Key .
And from her second marriage, she was blessed with the love of six children, 16 grandchildren (one of whom died in 2008), and four great-great grandchildren, who live in New York and Connecticut.
