Billy Ray Williams, age 74 of Eagle Springs passed away, November 28, 2019 on his birthday and Thanksgiving day while doing what he loved best, being outside and hunting.
A memorial service will be 2:00 PM Saturday, December 7, 2019 at Central Carolina Riders Association (CCRA) Arena.
A native of Moore County he was a son of the late Raymond and Hazel (Livengood) Williams. Billy retired from the NC Forest Service as a heavy equipment operator. He was an active member and past president of the CCRA. Billy was also a member of the Carolina Mounted Search and Rescue Team, where he served as Command Post Officer/Tac Manager. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed all kinds of hunting and fishing. He was a farrier and leatherman. Billy could do anything he put his mind to and was a master of many things. He was also a great story teller.
He is survived by his wife Carol (Carrick) Williams; daughters Lynn Brower and boyfriend Bobby of Robbins, Lisa Meurer and husband Jacob of Spring Lake; sisters Frances Pickler and husband Virgil of Aberdeen, Linda Daniel and husband James of Magna, UT; three grandchildren Kristin, Tiffany, Alana and two great-grandchildren Kayleb, Jacob.

I am so sorry to hear this sad news. I know that Billy will
sorely be missed. He was an Awesome Friend,
and a Great Horseman! He had a way when working with horses,
that was like a “Horse Whisperer”.
