Diane Myrick Russell, 65, entered her Heavenly home, along with her soulmate, Jerry, on Thursday, August, 12, 2021 at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital, surrounded by her daughter and granddaughter.

 

Diane was a native of Moore County and a graduate of North Moore High School. She worked for the US Postal Service for over 30 years. Diane loved to sing for the Lord. She sang at many churches over the years, touching many lives with her God-given talent. Along with her daughter, Terri, as her pianist. Diane also enjoyed baking and cooking, there was nothing she could not make. Family meant everything to Diane, whether teaching her granddaughter how to do crafts, or going fishing and hunting with her husband, Jerry. Diane was a daughter of Alene Maness Myrick and the late Lester Myrick.

 

Diane is survived by son: Scott Russell and wife Carrie; daughter: Terri Russell; grandchildren: Hannah, Caitlyn, Caroline, Alex;  brother: Ricky Myrick; nephews: Dusty Myrick, Tony Myrick, Cody Myrick and several more nieces, nephews and friends.

 

Funeral Service for the beloved couple will be 2:00 PM, Saturday, August 21, 2021 at Crossroads  Baptist Church, where she was a member, with the Reverend Curtis Barbery and Reverend Darrell Williams officiating.   Burial will follow in the church cemetery.   The body will lie in repose in the church, beginning at 12:30 pm.

 

The family will receive friends from 2 PM -7 PM, August 18, 19, and 20, 2021, at the home.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made and sent to: Hannah Russell College Fund, P.O. Box 813, Robbins, NC 27325.

She would always tell me how proud she was that she shared names with me. My middle name is Dianne. I saw her just a few months ago and she told me that again.   9. I never saw them that they weren’t smiling!! Would see Jerry and your Grandmother at the grocery store and he was so patient with her. He would always ask about Daddy after Mother died. And your Mama – Dianne was one in a million. Beautiful voice, friendly personality and would speak to everyone. We would always talk about visiting with your Great-Grandma Rosie and my Grandmother Mattie. I know she is singing for them right now!!! You have the assurance you will see them again. My prayers for you all especially Terri, Scott and Hannah.

    Always loved to hear Diane sing years ago at Beulah Baptist Church before
    the Lord called us into ministry.
    We would later get her to come to Riverside and sing for us during revival.
    You could always sense the presense of God moving in her life !!
    We are saddened by their departure, but will see them again one day !!

    Both will be greatly missed !!

  16. I am so sorry to hear of Jerry & Dianne’s passing. Dianne & I sang in the choir @ Beulah for many years. She had the most beautiful voice.     • My mother,Louvered and I are so sadden by your loss We loved Dianne and Jerry even though we only knew them a short time Dianne sang God On The Mountain for mama BECAUSE Jerry told her it was mama’s favorite He was always out side to help get her in church on Sundays God be with your family and give you peace knowing they are with our LORD.
