John Darrell Phillips

John Darrell Phillips, 74, passed away Tuesday, October 12, 2021 at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital.
Darrell was born in Moore County on August 25, 1947. He served his country in the United States Army. He was a loving son, brother, husband, father and grandfather. Darrell worked in the Poultry industry for many years, serving as Flock Supervisor for Mt. Aire Farms and Shipping Supervisor for Perdue Farms. He loved the Lord and was dedicated to his church. Darrell enjoyed golf, fishing and watching old Westerns. His family was most important, time spent with them, especially the grandchildren and great grandchildren was special. Darrell was a son of the late Jesse Willard and Flossie Burns Phillips and was preceded in death by brother: Edward Phillips.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Vicki Maness Phillips; daughters: Tonya Beane, Kim Brown and husband Tony; sons: Wayne Phillips and wife Pansie, Kevin Phillips and wife Misty; grandchildren: Megan, Michael, Laurin, Kristen, Andy; step grandchildren: Braxton, Tyler, Destiny; great grandchildren: Chezlynne, Mason, Maliki, Mackenzie; step great grandchildren: Journee; sister: Delores Moore and husband Jerry; brother: Charles Phillips and wife Judy; many nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral Services will be 2:00 PM, Friday, October 15, 2021 at Unity Grove Baptist Church, officiated by Pastor Jason Cheek. Burial, with Military Honors, will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM, Thursday, October 14, 2021 at Kennedy Funeral Home and at all other times at the home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: FirstHealth Hospice, 150 Applecross Road, Pinehurst, NC.
