Alice May Scott Byrd, 81, passed away at her home on Sunday, May 18, 2025.

A native of Moore County, born on April 2, 1944, she was a daughter of the late Harry “Bill” Nathaniel Scott and Bonnie Fields Scott.

Alice drew great joy from her times on the farm and gardening, always sharing vegetables with neighbors and family.  She was known for her kind heart, contagious laugh, and her Southern cooking.

Alice is survived by her two sisters: Linda Scott Myrick and Joyce Scott Phillips both of Carthage; as well as many nieces and nephews.
