Annelu Moore Ray, age 93 of Carthage died Sunday (November 2, 2014) at Pinehurst Health and Rehabilitation Center in Pinehurst.

 

A memorial service will be 11:00 AM Tuesday at First Baptist Church in Carthage conducted by the Rev. Ray Campbell and the Rev. Dr. J. Billy Graham. Burial will be at Westview Cemetery in Kinston.

 

Born in Perryville Alabama to the late Roy and Nora Holton Moore she was a widow of the late Rev. Michael Ray. She was a graduate of Auburn University, and attended Southeastern University and UNC Chapel Hill. She was a missionary to India for 12 years and taught school in Moore County for many years. She also worked as a dietician at McCain Hospital.

 

She is survived by her children: Patricia Corbin of Carthage, Dr. Tommy Ray of Apex, Allan Ray of Auburn, AL and Kathy Ray Lineberry of Carthage; 14 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
