Bertha Baugess

Bertha Mae Baugess, age 83 of Carthage died Friday at her home.    Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Monday at First Presbyterian Church in Carthage conducted by the Rev. Rick Martindale. Burial will follow in Cross Hill Cemetery.    A native of Moore County she was a daughter of the late Jesse and Elvie Monroe Nunnery. Bertha worked as a custodian for Carthage Post Office and Carthage Elementary School for several years and also work for the nursery at Carthage United Methodist Church.    She was preceded in death by: her husband William Guy Baugess; son William "Willie" Baugess, Jr.; sisters Alice McIntosh and Pearl Wilkes; brother Bill Nunnery.    She is survived by eight children: Boyd Dale Baugess and wife Betsy of Burlington, Ralph Baugess and wife Judy of Carthage, Jessie Danley and husband Dan of Brown Summit, Linda Williams and husband Robert of Lemon Springs, Della Whitaker and Donna Driggers both of Carthage, Betty Ann Johns of Hope Mills and Mitchell Baugess and wife Edna of Lobilia; sister Ann Key of Carthage; brother Carl Nunnery of Carthage; 17 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.   The family will receive friends at Fry and Prickett Funeral Home on Sunday from 6:00 - 8:00 PM.   Condolences: PinesFunerals.com
