CARTHAGE
Billy J. Boyd, Jr., age 63, died Wednesday at Firsthealth Hospice House in Pinehurst.
A funeral service is planned for 2:00 pm on Saturday, March 17, 2018 at Beulah Baptist Church in Bennett, with Dr. Neal Jackson, Rev. Jason Taylor & Rev. Robert Kidd officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00pm on Friday at Beulah Baptist Church .
A native of Moore County, he was the son of the late Billy J Boyd, Sr. & Betty Hinsley Boyd. A graduate of Union Pines High School he was the owner & operator of Billy Boyd Trucking for over 20 years. An active member at Beulah Baptist Church, he loved to barbecue for his church family. Billy was especially proud of his grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Monica Boyd; and a sister, Barbara Davis.
Survivors include his wife, Geraldine Purvis Boyd; two daughters, Meredith Farrell & husband, Vinnie of Concord and Billie Jean Yarusinsky & husband, Mike of Monroe; one sister, Patricia Medlin of Carthage and one brother, Jerry Waylon Boyd & wife, Robin of Carthage; and six grandchildren, Vincent, Elizabeth and William Farrell and Jase, Ava and Alyssa Yaruskinsky.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Beulah Baptist Church Building Fund, 8454 Howards Mill Road, Bennett, NC 27208 or Firsthealth Hospice, 150 Applecross Road, Pinehurst, NC 28374.
