We will miss you uncle Pete -
Betty Sue, Flora Ann, Helen and Johnnie I am sorry to hear of the passing of your brother, Pete. Reading his obituary brought back so many precious memories of our younger years when we all lived at the Mine, now Standard Mineral. I remember how faithful your dear, precious daddy, Herman, was to take us to meet the bus. I remember the many visits my husband and I did to see Herman. Bless his heart, I still remember seeing him sitting on the front porch of your home on Hwy 24/27, hooked up to large oxygen cylinders. Unfortunately, both Herman and my daddy, Luther Cox, both suffered from having poor lung function from working at the talc mine. So sad the damage that many suffered from a job that they faithfully worked at to earn a living for their families! Hope all of you are doing well.
