It is with deep sorrow and immense love that we announce the passing of Carolyn Kearney on April 1, 2025 at Quail Haven Retirement Village in Pinehurst, NC. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend who touched the lives of so many with her smile and her unwavering love and support for her family.

Born in Henderson, NC Carolyn lived a life full of love and Christian faith. Carolyn resided in various cities in NC, SC, and VA, most recently in Pinehurst, NC. She dedicated herself to her family, especially her grandchildren, always creating a home filled with warmth and laughter. Whether through her fierce support of those she loved, her hard work, or her spirited nature, she made the world a better place.

She leaves behind her loving family, including her husband, Wayne Thomas Kearney (Tom); her children, Julie Bouche (Jon), Wayne Kearney (Jennifer), Wendy Murphrey (Britt); her cherished grandchildren, Valerie Taylor (Alex), Elaine Kowalewski (Mark), Graham Murphrey (Megan), Emily Kearney, Walker Murphrey, Phillip Bouche; her sisters/brother in law: Sarah Poythress, Jean West (W.H.), Maxine Kearney, Bill Kearney (Wanda), and a circle of family and friends who will forever hold her in their hearts. Though she is no longer with us, her love, guidance, and beautiful memories will live on in all who knew her.

A celebration of her life will be held 12:00 p.m. on Friday, April 4, 2025, at Aberdeen First Baptist Church in Aberdeen, NC with Reverend Dr. Daryl Cornett officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Quail Haven Retirement Village Christmas Fund in her honor 155 Blake Blvd. Pinehurst, NC 28374.

Rest peacefully, Carol/Mom. You will always be loved and never forgotten.

  2. I love all of you and have wonderful memories of spending a week every summer with you while mama worked. We would swim in the pool, play games, and did a ton of laughing. I will always remember all the times we shared together at Thanksgiving and Christmas with all of our families.
