Catherine “Cathie” Ann McNeill (née Zoltack), 60, died Tuesday, January 5, 2016 at FirstHealth Hospice House in Pinehurst.

  A memorial service will be held 5:00 PM Friday at the Powell Funeral Chapel, 160 E New Hampshire Ave, Southern Pines Friday January 8th 2016. Visitation will prior to the service beginning at 4:00pm.

  Cathie was the daughter of the Nancy Zoltack (née Seyfried) and the late Norman Zoltack of Bethlehem, PA She was born July 7th 1955 in Bethlehem PA and  was married to Darrell McNeill for 17 years. They lived happily and vivaciously together in Pinehurst.

  Cathie attended Freedom High school in Bethlehem PA. and graduated with a BS in Nursing from Methodist College in Fayetteville NC. She later obtained her Master of Science in Nursing - Nurse Anesthesia from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.

  Cathie was a proud veteran of the United States Army, who served her country honorably overseas in Germany and later stationed in Fort Bragg, NC. After retiring from the Army, she continued her life of service as a nurse and CRNA at FirstHealth Moore Regional for over 33 years. In all aspects of her life, Cathie embodied service and care for her family, friends, patients, and strangers. To know Cathie was to love her and to be loved by her.

  She was an avid fan of the Atlanta Braves and loved bike riding, yoga, and traveling with her husband to the beach and baseball games. She also loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.

  Cathie is survived by: her husband Darrell McNeill; children Karl Eifert of Aberdeen, Erik Eifert of Belmont; Jennifer Thomas of Wilkes-Barre, PA; step daughter Amanda McNeill of Wilmington; stepson Darrell McNeill, III of Wilmington; mother Nancy; brother Randy of Slatington PA; grandchildren Caitlyn Burger, Nathan Burger, Timothy Burger, Amaia Lopez, Diego Lopez, Layla Eifert, Liam Eifert and Emi Eifert.

  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Cathie’s name may be made to the charity of one’s choice or to The Susan G Komen Foundation.

  Fry & Prickett Funeral Home of Carthage is serving the family.
