Charles “Mike” Dowd, 62  died Saturday, January 17, 2015 at his home surrounded by his family.

 

The family will receive friends at Fry and Prickett Funeral Home from 6:00 - 8:00 PM Sunday, January 18, 2015 and other times at the home.  Funeral services will be private.

 

A native of Moore County, Mike operated Dowd’s Motor Pool with his father.  He enjoyed fishing and his many adventures on the wrecker service.  He was a loving father and grandfather. Time spent with family and friends was always important.  He was the son of the late Charles and Joan Nall Dowd.  

 

Mike is survived by daughter Venus Brigman and husband Kim, of Carthage; sons: Thomas Jeremy Dowd and wife Jennifer, of China Grove; Charles Michael Dowd II , of Carthage sisters:  Debra Childress and husband Steve, Pamela Cameron and husband Thomas; grandchildren: Harley, Trent, Gracie, Wyatt, Gabbi, Kirsten and Chance, nephews: Austin and Zachary, great nephew: Ezekiel.

 

The family would like to thank Dr. Hipp, Dr. Hoehn-saric and their staff and the staff of Davita Dialysis for their care and support.

 

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Emmanuel Baptist Carpenters in Christ, Att: Leta Nunnery 632 McCrimmon Road, Carthage, NC 28327.

  2. We all have lost a great friend , Mike never met a stranger and was always kind to everyone ! His work was more of a passion than a job and many friend were made because of his work and the way he treated everyone !

  5. Debbie and Pam I was sadden by the news of Mike’s death. Remembering Mike from years past. He was a good friend. I remember his laughter. He always blew the horn when he traveled past my home in the big red wrecker. Now he’s riding in the clouds of heaven
