Charles Rupert Dixon

Charles Rupert Dixon, 94, formerly of Robbins, died Monday, July 21, 2014 at Randolph Hospice House.
Graveside services, with Military Honors, will be 3:00 PM Friday, July 25, 2014 at Pine Rest Cemetery, conducted by the Reverend Kenneth McNeill. The family will receive friends at Kennedy Funeral Home beginning at 1:00 PM prior to the service. A native of Gaston County, he was a son of the late, Jacob James “JJ” and Myrtle Hansil Dixon. Charles served in the United States Army and was a member of the VFW Honor Guard and DAV. He worked for 47 years for Robbins Mill. He was a charter member of Robbins First Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife Ollie Cole Dixon and four brothers and sisters.
He is survived by son: Charles “Bobby” Dixon and wife Carolyn, of Asheboro, grandsons: Tim Dixon and wife Melanie, of Randleman, Mark Dixon and wife Trever, of Salisbury, great grandchildren, Alicia Dixon, Lynsay Dixon, Regan Dixon Matthew Dixon, brother: Ronald Dixon, of Conover, sisters: Mabel Fox, Rachel Lambert, Wilma Smith, Nellie Allen, all of Statesville, Margaret Holt, of Rock Hill, SC.
Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, P O Box 400, Robbins, NC 27325.
