Charles Seamon Jones

Charles Seamon Jones passed away peacefully Monday, Dec. 5, 2016, at Bayview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, in New Bern. He was 75.
Charles was born April 16, 1941, in Fayetteville. He grew up in Southern Pines, and lived there until 2013.
In 1960, Charles graduated from Southern Pines High School. He later served two years in the U. S. Army. He was employed at the A & P Grocery Store in Southern Pines for over 25 years, where he formed many wonderful friendships with both co-workers and customers.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents, L.D. Jones Sr. and Anne H. Jones; and a brother, Jimmy Jones. He is survived by his daughter, Tracey Casey and her husband, Tim, of New Bern; brother L. D. Jones Jr. and wife, Dorothy, of Fayetteville; sister, Barbara Jones Cato, of Hamlet; special cousin, Mike Hobbs, of Southern Pines; grandchildren, Tate, Trent and Tanner Casey, of New Bern; and many nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.
Graveside services will be held Friday, Dec. 9, at 2 p.m., at Mount Hope Cemetery, in Southern Pines.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Sandhills Children’s Center, 1280 Central Drive,
Southern Pines, NC 28387.
Cotton Funeral Home in New Bern and Powell Funeral Home in Southern Pines will be assisting the family.
