Christopher “Rainey” Stanton, 50, passed away at home in Lillington on Sunday, April 27, 2025.

Born in Lee County, on August 28, 1974, he is the son of Christopher Paul and Rebecca Ann Ray Stanton. Rainey graduated from Western Harnett High School and worked in construction, remodeling, and automotive repair. He enjoyed fishing, deer hunting, auto racing, and riding ATVs. Rainey was kind-hearted, fun-loving, and hard-working. He will be sorely missed by his loved ones, but they rejoice that he is at rest with the Lord.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Zollie and Maxine Stanfield Ray, and paternal grandparents, Lawrence and Rhoda Petrice Stanton.

In addition to his parents, Rainey is survived by his sister: Miranda Fleming (Charles); two nephews: Hawthorne Fleming and Hatterras Fleming; and niece: Genevieve Fleming.

A memorial service will be held Monday, May 19, 2025, at 6:30 p.m., at Sanford church of Christ, 2404 Hawkins Ave., Sanford, NC.
