Cynthia Rose Mitchell

August 16, 1953 ~ May 20, 2025
WADESBORO – On Tuesday, May 20, 2025, Mrs. Cynthia Comer Mitchell, 71, passed away peacefully at Anson Health and Rehabilitation in Wadesboro with her family at her side.
There will be a celebration of life at 3:00 PM, Saturday, June 7, 2025, at Acorn Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery, 283 Acorn Ridge Rd., Robbins, NC 27325.
Cynthia was born August 16, 1953, in Moore County, NC and was the daughter of Charity Mae Burgess Comer and the late Arnold Reece Comer. She was a graduate of North Moore High School in Robbins and received an Associate’s degree from South Piedmont Community College.
She worked for many years in the textile industry and as a waitress. She enjoyed gardening, having both huge vegetable and flower gardens. She loved Elvis. She was also known for enjoying an ice-cold Diet Coke.
Those who are left to cherish her memory are her mother, Charity Comer of Robbins; her children, Jody Williamson and wife, Katrena of Randleman and Amber Williamson and partner, Richard Horne of Peachland; her grandchildren, Michael Brock, Dustin Williamson, Grayson Mitchell, Jameson Horne and Ryan Horne; her brother and sisters, Terry Comer (Shellee) of Wingate, Susan Waller (John) of Polkton, Sharon Lawson (Mark) of Asheboro, and Karen Powell (Terry) of Monroe.
Sissy also leaves several nieces and nephews whom she loved very much: Jacklyn Pollock, Jeremy Comer, Amanda Velasquez, Jason Waller, Stephanie Reynolds, Aaron Lawson, TJ Powell, and Nikki Knight and many great-nieces and great-nephews. She always loved seeing pictures of all her family while she was a resident at Anson Health and Rehab.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dennis Gray Mitchell.
The family would like to thank Anson Health and Rehabilitation in Wadesboro for their loving care of Cynthia “Mom” for the past 7 years. She considered that her home and extended family. Also, the family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Tillery Compassionate Care for their kindness, support, and care shown to Cynthia.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Anson Health and Rehabilitation, 405 S. Greene St., Wadesboro, NC 28170 or to Tillery Compassionate Care, 960 N. 1st St., Albemarle, NC 28001.
The arrangements are in care of Leavitt Funeral Home in Wadesboro and Kennedy Funeral Home in Robbins.

I remember vividly a few times we visited your mom in Wadesboro as our moms were friends when we were little. She was one of a kind and I know you’re at a loss. We send prayers to the entire family and I’m very sorry for your loss my friend.
