Doris Elaine Ferree Wallace, 85 of Carthage, North Carolina went to her heavenly home on Friday, December 29, 2017 surrounded by her family.
Funeral Service will be held 2 PM, Monday, January 1, 2018 at Flint Hill Baptist Church, with Reverend William Hancock and Reverend John Williamson, officiating. Graveside service will follow in the church cemetery
She was born October 8, 1932 in Bennett, North Carolina to the late Lester Ferree and the late Lillian Ferree Turpin. She was preceded in death by an infant son, Rufus Lewis Wallace II and her brother, Larry Ferree.
She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Rufus Lewis Wallace; two daughters, Rita Wallace and Janet Ritter (Roger); two grandchildren Jana and Taylor Ritter; sisters, Joyce Garrell, Barbara Councilman ( Zeke), and Brenda Brown ( Albert Junior), as well as many nieces and nephews. She was an avid reader, loved her family and enjoyed all their time together.
The family will receive friends Sunday, December 31, 2017 from 6 to 8 pm at Kennedy Funeral Home and other times at the home.
