Edna Hussey Coward. 92, passed away Wednesday, April 20, 2022 at her home, surrounded by her family.
Edna was a native of Moore County and a graduate of Westmoore High School. Edna worked in textiles and retired from Carthage Fabrics. She enjoyed working and made many friends during her working years. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She will be remembered by her family as a wonderful cook, who especially enjoyed big family meals every Sunday. Edna was a fan of the North Carolina Tarheels, Atlanta Braves and enjoyed watching NASCAR racing on TV. Edna enjoyed caring for her family, her home and was very comfortable just sitting on her front porch, visiting with family and friends. She was a daughter of the late Charlie A. and Emma Garner Hussey and was preceded in death by husband: Russell Coward; daughter: Linda Coward Carter; son in law: Terry Moore; sisters: Flora H. Williams, Gertrude H. Owens, Myrtie H. Ritter, Eva H. Skeen; brothers: Eldridge Hussey, Tracy Hussey, Clifford Hussey, Alva Hussey, Lennie Hussey, Charles Hussey.
Edna is survived by son: Arthur Coward (Linda); daughter: Cheryl Moore (Chuck Kennedy); grandchildren: Kim Carter, Chasity Tyree (Michael), Tiffany Brewer (Clifton), Jason Moore (Betsy), Hoby Coward (Chasity); great grandchildren: Naya Moore, Amari Moore, Lizah Moore, Peyton Coward, Preston Coward, Henley Brewer, Hadley Brewer, Tyler Brewer, Emma Brewer, Finlee Moore; sisters: Marie Albright, Genevieve Murray; many nieces, nephews and friends.
Graveside service will be 11:00 AM, Saturday, April 23, 2022 at Needhams Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, with the Reverend Neil Jackson officiating.
The family will receive friends at the home.
Memorial may be made to Needhams Grove Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 359 Needham Grove Road, Seagrove, NC 27341.
