Ernest William Morgan 76, passed away Friday, February 25, 2022 at his home.

Ernest was the son of the late Issac Frank and Eula Page Morgan. He was a graduate of Westmoore High School and served his country in the United States Navy, Submarine Service, USS Von Steuben SSBN-632 from May 11, 1966-January 30, 1970.  After his service in the navy, he and his brothers operated Morgan Brother’s Construction, later retiring from Lucks, Inc.   Ernest was a loving son, brother, husband, father and grandfather. He always offered a smile and a kind word to everyone he met. He was a faithful member of Bethel Church of God, sang in the choir, taught Sunday School and served as a Deacon. Ernest loved the Lord and was always ready to demonstrate his faith. He was a true servant with a servant’s heart, this was truly his ministry.  He enjoyed gardening, caring for his yard, and caring for his chickens. Family was of the utmost importance to him, especially spending time with his grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sister: Edith McCaskill; grandchildren: Erica and Dillon.

Ernest is survived by his wife of 54 years, Clarice; sons: Eric Morgan and wife Jeanna, Jody Morgan and wife Patricia, Mark Morgan and wife Crystal;  grandchildren: Lauren (fiancé Tyler McNeill), Thomas, Logan, Myles, Cohen, Brooklyn, Cooper, Cayson, Madelynn; siblings: Ruth Emery, Rachel Comer, Helen Kennedy (Robert), Marilyn Auman (Terry), Doris Stutts (Bobby), Frankie Morgan (Thelma), Charlie Morgan (Ann), Wayne Morgan (Nancy), Dallas Morgan (Pam); many nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral Service will be 2:00 PM, Tuesday, March 1, 2022 at Bethel Church of God, with Pastor Larry May officiating.  Burial, with Military Honors, will follow at Smyrna United Methodist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM, Monday, February 28, 2022 at Kennedy Funeral Home and at other times at the home.
