Ethel Richardson Trotter 95, died Monday, October 26, 2015 at St Joseph of the Pines Health Center, Southern Pines, NC, surrounded by her family.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, October 30, 2015 at Pine Rest Cemetery with the Reverend Mamie Alley and Reverend Al Trotter officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at Tabernacle United Methodist Church fellowship hall.
Ethel was a native of Moore County, who loved the Robbins Community. She served the community as a Town Commissioner. She was also co-owner of the Flower Box, with her daughter, Frankie. Ethel was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She also enjoyed gardening, traveling, and phone conversations with friends and neighbors. She was a longtime member of Tabernacle United Methodist Church. Ethel was a loving mother and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her parents, John Lacy and Mattie Brown Richardson; husband: Frank Hoover Trotter; daughter: Fleta Mae.
Ethel is survived by daughters: Frankie McCaskill and husband Harold, of Robbins, Ingrid Steele and husband Walter, of Charlotte; son: Al Trotter and wife Gay, of Burlington; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; brother: Reverend Earl Richardson, of Durham; sisters: Eva Dowd, of Southern Pines, Era Mae Rickman, of Southern Pines, Carletta Cagle, of Spout Springs, and Georgia Bean, of Robbins.
The family expresses their deep love and gratitude to the staff of St Joseph of the Pines Health Center, especially the caring staff of the 800 Hall.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM on Thursday, October 29, 2015 at Kennedy Funeral Home, Robbins, NC and at other times at the home of Harold and Frankie McCaskill.
