Felton A. Maness, age 85 of Carthage died Tuesday (November 11, 2014) at his home.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Friday at Unity Grove Baptist Church conducted by the Rev. Terry Warren burial will follow in the church cemetery.
A native of Moore County he was a son of the late John Lockey Maness and Mary Lee Williams Maness. Mr. Maness worked in Textiles at a young age and was a farmer.
He was preceded in death by: his first wife Maxine Williams Maness; son Michael Maness, daughter Sarah Connell; brothers Eugene, Winfred and Herman; sister Mazie Wallace; grandson Heath Connell.
He is survived by: his wife Bonnie Ritter Maness; son Johnny Maness and wife Hope of West End; step daughters Pat Cheek, Carolyn Purvis and Vickie Ritter all of Robbins; sisters Doshie Jones and Mildred both of Bennett; grandchildren Chris Maness, Stacy King, Hollie Morgan and Brandon Maness; six step grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, five step great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends at Kennedy Funeral Home from 6:00 - 8:00 PM Thursday and other times at the home.
