Floyd Thomas Tyner, age 82, of Carthage, passed away at his home on Saturday, November 15, 2025.
A native of Moore County, he was the son of the late Albert and Jessie Pearl Speer Tyner. Floyd graduated from Carthage High School and was a Carthage volunteer firefighter for 20 years. He retired as manager of Carthage Farm Supply, where he worked for 35 years. After that, he worked at McDonald Brothers for 10 years doing deliveries.
In addition to his parents, Floyd was preceded in death by a brother, Roger Tyner, and two sisters, Brenda Cummings and Clara Sheffield.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Joyce Maness Tyner; sons Michael Tyner and wife Hallie, Brian Tyner and wife Barbara; sister Janet Sineath and brother Randy Tyner, all of Carthage; three grandchildren; two step-grandchildren and one step-great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at Priest Hill Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Archie Stevens officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 5:00 – 7:00 at Fry & Prickett Funeral Home and at other times at the home.
