Gary Thomas Maness, 80, of Robbins, NC. passed on to his heavenly home on Friday, May 16, 2025 at Quail Haven Retirement Home in Pinehurst. 

 He was a graduate of Elise High School, served his Country in the United States Air Force, during the Vietnam War. Gary worked in textiles and was a business owner. He was a loyal active member of First Baptist Church.  He loved his church and Church family. He had an antique truck that was his prize possession. 

He was preceded in death by his parents Thomas Julian Maness and Mary Margaret Kidd Maness of Robbins, and his wife Betty Threadgill Maness of Robbins. 

He is survived by his only child: Pamela Maness Garner,  fiancé John Taylor;  grandson: Joshua Garner, wife Colby; great grandchildren: Nora Garner & Grayson Garner, of Robbins.; step sons: James Key and Chris Key and family. 

Special acknowledgement to caregivers Brooke Wilson, Cindy Williams and Johnette Stanley for their amazing care during the last months of his life.

 A memorial service will be held at 1 PM, Wednesday, May 21, 2025 at First Baptist Church in Robbins. 

Gary will be remembered for his dedication to his family, his church and to his community. His memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.

In lieu of flowers memorial may be made to Robbins First Baptist Church, P O Box 400, Robbins, NC 27325.

  2. I’m so saddened by this news , we thought alot of Gary , he could tell a good joke and was a good son looking after his parents . He will be missed but he’s in a much better place and is no longer fighting his health , his with family now and soon all of us will be together again! Love you and praying for you !
